March Program Meeting: Transformational Corporate Engagement with Tammy Zonker
Tammy L. Zonker
Transformational Corporate Engagement
SESSION DESCRIPTION: December 10th, 2010 General Motors and the General Motors Foundation announced a $27.1M gift to the United Way for Southeastern Michigan’s education turnaround initiative. This represents the largest gift ever given in the 40+ year history of General Motors Foundation, and the single largest gift given to any individual United Way in the country for educational preparedness. As this speaker led the team effort to engage General Motors, three transformational fundraising insights emerged. Through telling the story of securing the gift, these insights will be explored and participants will consider how they may apply them inside their organizations towards transforming their relationship with corporate supporters and securing major and mega gifts.
- Participants will walk away with the process, tools and template to move beyond sponsorship level gifts to transformational investment with corporate partners.
- Be introduced to strategies and resources to powerfully align their mission with corporate investors towards transformational results.
- Explore how nonprofits may help solve business problems through philanthropy.
- Receive a template for creating shared value with corporate partners and increasing major gift results.
