Welcome to the Florida First Coast Chapter Founded in 1986, the AFP Florida First Coast Chapter represents over 160 fundraising professionals at over 95 organizations. The mission of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Florida First Coast Chapter is to advance ethical philanthropy through education, peer support and advocacy, thus enabling individuals and organizations to better serve the diverse communities and people of the First Coast.

Nov 17 - Chief Development Officer
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) serves as a strategic leader of the organization and a key member and thought partner of the Leadership Team and CEO. The CDO successfully plans, implements and monitors a comprehensive and integrated resource development strategy for United Way. The primary focus and responsibility of the CDO is to create and implement strategies, build relationships and lead a team to achieve aggressive fundraising and revenue targets to support the organization’s mission and strategic plan. S/he will build on UWNEFL’s traditional strengths in workplace giving campaigns while developing innovative strategies to strengthen strategic partnerships, individual giving, affinity group programs, planned giving, and major gifts. Nov 17 - Development Associate
General Summary: The Development Associate will take major responsibility in assisting the Director of Development in performing the duties of directing and overseeing the Bishop’s Annual Stewardship Appeal (BASA), managing all BASA donor relations and database records, and assisting with the promotion of diocesan stewardship education and activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Directs and manages all fundraising, logistics and gift processing for the BASA campaign and its related events, including: communication with clergy, staff, volunteers, and donors; manages timeline of event; works with outside vendors; negotiates yearly vendor contracts; plans and assists with all major donor receptions; development of materials and coordination of training for pastors and volunteers; tracks and reports data collection; coordinates all direct mail and email communication; and assists with the development of campaign material. • Takes major responsibilities in all planning, organizing and meetings of the Pastors Advisor Committee (PAC). • Oversees the maintenance and accuracy of the donor and grant databases. • Trains and supervises database/donor relations staff member(s). • Takes major responsibility and assists the Director in the development and implementation of Crozier level cultivation, maintenance, and special events. • Develops new and maintains all existing donor relations, outreach and stewardship. • Oversees special programs, projects and committees within the scope of the Development Office. • Promotes, assists and supports all diocesan stewardship activities. • Assists in staffing-related efforts for the Diocesan Stewardship Council and its activities. • Assists with all other development fundraising projects and/or special events or campaigns, as necessary. • Develops and maintains good relationships with clergy, schools, parish staff, and volunteers. • Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to parishes, dioce ... more >

Nov 20 - The Fundraising Effectiveness Project Releases Third Quarter Benchmark Report for Nonprofit Fundraisers
(Nov. 20, 2017) The Fundraising Effectiveness Project (FEP) released its third quarter findings and announced that both donor giving and donor retention is on a continued downward trend. FEP’s third quarter report indicates year-to-date giving through September 2017 is down by -4% compared to the same time period in 2016 and that donor retention is currently at its lowest point in five years, with an overall year-to-date retention of 45%. ... more >
